DEAF COMMUNITY OF TEXAS

 “Off-The-Grid Missions” is our Non-Profit Organization that provides “sustainable” Disaster-Relief to Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing people in disaster-stricken regions around the world. We are coming to Texas on a two-part mission to provide: relief to Deaf/Hh people who are still cut-off from resources, and EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS for FUTURE disasters. We all have seen by now how the snowstorm has exposed a number of vulnerabilities in the system. One small storm, one pipe burst —can turn water back off, or turn boil notices on. Hurricane season is fast-approaching. There are many reasons to prepare regardless of your current situation.

If you need support to help you prepare, or if you are able to be a leader to offer support with resources that will be provided by OTGM, we advise you to register to attend one of OTGM’s four events in Texas! The supplies that will be distributed include long-lasting high-grade water filtration systems that provide clean water for up to 100 people per day; solar lights for communicating after sundown in Sign Language; and other disaster-preparedness supplies.

🔺Each event will be the same. Pick one date and location that works for you and register now. Continue to check back for address and location to be announced. Space and supplies are limited. TEXAS LOCALS: you can get involved by helping give the information we post to those cut-off from social media. Please read this information CAREFULLY because we will have location/hours posted here and will need the public’s help to ensure individuals deaf/hh/db/dd are informed with enough time to secure transportation.

🔺To ensure the safety and privacy of our attendees, friends, and family: face-masks will be required at all times. Food is to be consumed outside of the event. No alcohol beverages permitted. If under 18 must have a guardian. 6-Feet social distancing will be enforced. No cell phone/camera photos or videos will be permitted during the event.
